Luxembourg space resources week 2025 (19-21 May, 2025)
The Space Resources Week is back for its 6th edition continuing to solidify its role as a reference for the space resources community. Organized by the European Space Resources Innovation Centre (ESRIC), in collaboration with the European Space Agency (ESA), Luxembourg Space Agency (LSA), and the Luxembourg Institute for Science and Technology (LIST), this event brings together space agencies, business leaders, researchers, and early-stage ventures to explore the most exciting opportunities in the space resource sector.
This year’s edition will cover truly multidisciplinary range of topics, from science and technology to economic, legal, and regulatory aspects of space resources.
The shared vision of Space Resources Week 2025 is to promote the sustainable and responsible use of space resources, ensuring their pivotal role in shaping our future both in space and on Earth. While the path to achieving this vision remains open for discussion, the event will focus on immediate actions for the next five years, including key priorities to enable the realization of space resource utilization.
2025 Key topics
- Finding resources on the Moon, Mars and Asteroids (e.g. missions, measurements, mapping, prospecting)
- Extraction and use of resources on the Moon, Mars and Asteroids (e.g. excavation, beneficiation, oxygen and metals from regolith, water ice, purification, use)
- Architectures for and with space resources (e.g. in-space refuelling using space resource-derived propellant)
- Supporting technology (e.g. power, construction, automation and operation)
- Legal, regulatory and policy studies
- Economic studies related to space resources
A post-event Early Career Symposium will take place on May 22, providing early career professionals a platform to present their research and support collaboration within the space industry.
